Nico Epstein is one of the contemporary art world's most trusted educators of collectors. Over the past fifteen years, he has guided more than 520 collectors across four continents, from first-time buyers to family offices building generational holdings, and shaped how a generation of advisors enters the field.

His teaching career began at Christie's Education, where he has spent eight years on the faculty. His course Intro to Art Advisory has become a rite of passage for emerging professionals; if a new advisor has approached you in the past decade, there is a meaningful chance they sat in his classroom first. His pedagogy is built on the conviction that connoisseurship is teachable, that the eye, the instinct, and the judgment that distinguish serious collectors from speculative ones can be developed through structured, rigorous study.

Since 2019, Nico has served as the advisor Frieze calls upon to host its most important guests. He leads bespoke fair tours for celebrity collectors, VIPs, and institutional patrons in London, New York, Los Angeles, and Seoul, translating the density of the contemporary market into focused, decisive viewing.

Alongside his teaching and advisory work, Nico co-founded Arbulu Studio with cultural strategist Julia Lammer. Operating as cultural engineers, the studio counts Christie's, Frieze, LAS Art Foundation, Camden Art Centre, and the Friends of the Austrian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale among its clients. The work spans strategy, programming, and the kind of quiet institutional consulting that shapes what audiences eventually see.

The knowledge needed to collect contemporary art with confidence, the frameworks, the language, the judgment, was effectively locked behind institutional walls, social access, and a decade of expensive trial and error. The programme is his attempt to put that knowledge in the hands of every serious collector, regardless of where they started.
